PRIVATE CLIENT
Complex tax position. International assets.
A fully coordinated Spain entry strategy.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Relocating to Spain with significant wealth, passive income, or assets in multiple jurisdictions is a different exercise from a standard employment move. The tax implications are more complex, the compliance obligations are broader, and the cost of an uncoordinated approach is proportionally higher. This engagement is designed for individuals where all of that applies.
Investors and financially independent individuals
You have passive income — dividends, rental, interest — and want to relocate to Spain without triggering unnecessary Spanish tax exposure on your international portfolio.
Crypto and digital asset holders
You hold significant crypto or digital assets and need to understand the Spanish tax treatment, Modelo 721 reporting obligations, and how to structure the move to minimise compliance risk.
Individuals leaving high-tax jurisdictions
You are leaving the UK, US, Germany, or another high-tax jurisdiction and need both the exit and the Spain entry designed together — including origin-country exit tax, treaty positions, and the timing of residency change.
Founders and executives with equity or deferred income
You have unvested stock, deferred compensation, or a pending liquidity event. The interaction between your income timing and your Spanish residency start date needs careful planning.
THE COMPLEXITY
Spain taxes residents on worldwide income.
Once you become a Spanish tax resident, your global income is subject to Spanish IRPF — unless you qualify for the Beckham Law regime, which limits Spanish tax to domestic income for up to six years. For individuals with significant foreign income, Beckham eligibility is the single most important decision in the Spain entry strategy.
Modelo 720 and Modelo 721 reporting obligations.
Spanish tax residents with foreign assets above certain thresholds must declare them annually via Modelo 720 (bank accounts, investments, real estate) and Modelo 721 (crypto and digital assets). Missing these declarations carries significant penalties. The reporting obligations need to be understood before you establish residency.
Wealth tax and the Solidarity Tax.
Spain levies a wealth tax on assets above €700,000 (regional thresholds vary). The Solidarity Tax — introduced in 2022 — applies at the national level for net assets above €3 million. For high-net-worth individuals, understanding the wealth tax exposure and the available regional exemptions is a material part of the Spain entry decision.
THE APEXTAX APPROACH
ApexTax is a tax strategy consultancy. We do not provide formal tax or legal advice, manage assets, or represent clients before tax authorities. What we do is design the complete Spain entry strategy for your situation — tax position, visa pathway, asset reporting, and income structure — and coordinate the qualified specialists who execute each component.
For private clients, the value of a single coordinating point is highest precisely because the number of professionals involved is greatest. Tax advisor, immigration specialist, wealth manager, gestor — each executing their piece without a strategy layer is where expensive mistakes happen.
We assess your full situation — income sources, asset portfolio, origin-country obligations, visa options, and Beckham eligibility — and design a coordinated Spain entry strategy before any filing or application begins.
We produce a written strategy document covering your tax position, visa pathway, asset reporting obligations, and the timing of each step relative to your residency start date.
We introduce and coordinate the tax specialist, immigration specialist, and — where relevant — wealth manager or gestor required for your specific situation. One point of contact throughout.

THE PROCESS
01
Full situation assessment
We review your complete picture: income, assets, existing structures, origin-country obligations, and Spain residency goals. This is where we identify the complexity and design the engagement scope.
02
Strategy design
We produce a written Spain entry strategy document covering tax position, visa pathway, asset reporting obligations, and the timing of each step. You have a complete picture before any filing or application begins.
03
Specialist identification and introduction
We identify the right combination of specialists for your case — tax advisor, immigration specialist, wealth manager, gestor — and make the introductions with full context.
04
Coordinated execution
We coordinate the parallel workstreams — visa application, tax registrations, asset reporting setup — acting as the single point of contact between you and all specialists throughout.
05
Ongoing reference point
Once Spain entry is complete, we remain available for annual tax position reviews, reporting obligation changes, income structure adjustments, or questions that arise as your situation evolves.
Pricing for private client engagements is tailored to the complexity of your situation — number of income sources, asset portfolio breadth, origin-country obligations, and the number of specialists required to execute the strategy.
Specialist fees — tax advisor, immigration specialist, wealth manager — are agreed directly between you and each specialist. They are separate from the ApexTax strategy and coordination fee.
Start with a free 15-minute call. If the scope is complex, we will propose a paid strategy session before any execution begins.

FAQ
For individuals with complex situations, the difference between a coordinated Spain entry and an uncoordinated one is measured in avoidable tax exposure, missed compliance windows, and expensive restructuring. The time to design the strategy is before the move, not after.
